We have the honor of hosting a very special guest this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 16th.  Dr. Scott Borderud, Senior Pastor of First Alliance Church in Toccoa, Georgia, will be speaking at ANAC during our 11:00 a.m. service.  He is in line to be our next District Superintendent.  (There will be no 5:00 p.m. service as we prepare for the C&MA Southwestern District Conference, which starts Monday, Sept. 17th.)

Pastor Scott, a 1972 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, spent six years as a Marine Corps Infantry officer.  He graduated from Alliance Theological Seminary in 1984, was ordained in The Christian & Missionary Alliance in 1987, and began his career as an Army Chaplain in 1988.  A veteran of Desert Storm, he retired from active duty in 2006.  He received his Doctorate in Systematic Theology from the University of South Africa.  Scott came to First Alliance in June 2010 after teaching leadership and ethics at the Army Command & Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He and his wife, Carol, have three wonderful children:  Joshua, Christy, and Katherine.

So invite everyone you know to hear Pastor Scott speak this Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

All Hands on Deck for District Conference Prep

We are asking EVERYONE who is available to come to church this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 16th, at 3:00 p.m. (after choir practice) to help prepare the buildings, the audio/visual equipment, the banquet food, etc. for District Conference.  The success of the conference depends in large part on everyone's participation.  We thank you ahead of time for helping us out this Sunday.  For His glory!
