Very Special Guest Speaker on Sunday, September 16th

We have the honor of hosting a very special guest this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 16th.  Dr. Scott Borderud, Senior Pastor of First Alliance Church in Toccoa, Georgia, will be speaking at ANAC during our 11:00 a.m. service.  He is in line to be our next District Superintendent.  (There will be no 5:00 p.m. service as we prepare for the C&MA Southwestern District Conference, which starts Monday, Sept. 17th.)

Pastor Scott, a 1972 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, spent six years as a Marine Corps Infantry officer.  He graduated from Alliance Theological Seminary in 1984, was ordained in The Christian & Missionary Alliance in 1987, and began his career as an Army Chaplain in 1988.  A veteran of Desert Storm, he retired from active duty in 2006.  He received his Doctorate in Systematic Theology from the University of South Africa.  Scott came to First Alliance in June 2010 after teaching leadership and ethics at the Army Command & Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He and his wife, Carol, have three wonderful children:  Joshua, Christy, and Katherine.

So invite everyone you know to hear Pastor Scott speak this Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

All Hands on Deck for District Conference Prep

We are asking EVERYONE who is available to come to church this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 16th, at 3:00 p.m. (after choir practice) to help prepare the buildings, the audio/visual equipment, the banquet food, etc. for District Conference.  The success of the conference depends in large part on everyone's participation.  We thank you ahead of time for helping us out this Sunday.  For His glory!

Thousands Raised in Benefit Concert

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you who participated in, attended, donated to, and prayed for our September 23rd benefit concert.  In just one special and anointed evening, we all raised $4058.96 for the Houston Relief Fund of the Southwestern District of The Alliance.

In a letter to Pastor William Baradi and ANAC, District Superintendent Mark Searing said that the money helped make damaged homes “livable again and even in a better condition than it was previously impacted….Thank you so much!  May God bless you and the whole congregation richly!”

Please continue to pray for all victims in the Houston area as well as those in Florida and Puerto Rico.  We have an upcoming event (see below) that will give you another opportunity to donate for all areas recently affected by the hurricanes.

Come Visit Us on Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching.  Join us in our Fellowship Hall on Thursday, November 23rd, at 12 noon for our annual Thanksgiving celebration.  It’s Pot Bless, so please bring a covered dish, side dish, dessert, drinks, water, ice, utensils, etc. for a fun time.  We’ll have some special performances as well.

And we will set up a collection box for any donations for hurricane victims, many of whom will have a very different holiday season this year.  So mark your calendars to be with us on Thanksgiving Day!
